Trick or Treat Blog Hop Oct 1-2

Hey everyone,

Sorry for being gone for so long. I've been going through another flare up of my Ulcerative Colitis and you should know by now (if you've been following for a while) that it puts me down for a while. I just wanted to stop in and let you know that I will be participating in a blog hop this weekend showcasing Halloween projects. I'd love it if you swung by and checked it out. There will be some blog candy along the way and tons of very interesting projects.

A Birthday Card

It seems like forever since I've posted a project. Honestly, I haven't been feeling well and that effects everything. This project uses a Mojo Monday sketch.

I used the DCWV Mango Frost stack. A standard A2 sized card. I also used the Just Wordz Everyday Sentiments Stamps. If you haven't checked out Kim's stamps, you really should. They are great!!

Thanks for stopping by, stay crafty.

Busy Saturday

Happy Saturday Everyone,

Today has been a combination of lazy and busy. I didn't get my butt into gear until about 10. I spent a few hours down in the scrap cave trying to create some holiday cards. Here's what I came up with:

I ended up using 4 different mats because I screwed up when cutting the original ones.

The mats are from a Christmas stack that I got from Oriental Trading. It isn't the best paper, but if only using for mats or accents then it's fine. I cut the candy canes from the Gingerbread solutions cartridge. I added some Stickles to make it stand out.

I fought with the stamp. First I stamped it on white with red ink. Didn't like it. Then I tried green ink. No go. So I just stamped it directly on the card in black.

After I finished up these cards. The family and I went down the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to adopt a kitty. Miss A found like 4 cats she wanted. In the end, this is who came home with us:

She decided upon the name Winter. She's still getting used to the house and not being around all the other cats, but I'm sure she'll adjust.

Another really positive thing, I'll be participating in another blog hop at the beginning of October. So keep a look out for some great projects.

Stay crafty

Triplicate Trials Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Triplicate Trials Tuesday (TTT) Blog Hop. This week's challenge is being featured as a blog hop. If you arrived here from Alberta's blog then you are in the right place. If you are just stopping by, why don't you start from the beginning. This hop will run from September 6th to September 18th.

Comment on all participating blogs (I have a full list at the bottom of this post) AND create a project to win our GRAND PRIZE of TWO WILSON DESIGNS STAMP SETS of your choice!  There will be ONE lucky grand prize winner.  As an added bonus some of the Triple T Team will be offering blog candy on their blogs!

If you've never participated in one of TTT's challenges before, you are in for a treat. You are given 3 elements (color palette, sketch, and a theme) to complete your project. Above is this week's challenge. At first I was a little taken back by the theme. I couldn't really find anything that resonated with me. After speaking with one of my besties the other night, it hit me. I've been reading, "The Power" and it talks about how you have to give positivity to receive all the good things in the world. I took a little inspiration from the cover and the book.

Here's my card.

The ying-yang comes from Pagoda and is cut at 3 inches. The pattern paper is from the DCWV Mango Frost stack. The red and orange are in the pattern paper. The inside this card reads, "Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without. ~ Buddha".

I hope you like my project. Now jump on over to Caryn's blog and continue the fun! Remember to leave a comment on each blog and link your project up at Triplicate Trials for a chance to win the Grand Prize.

A layout

I know you are all probably as shocked as I am, I actually did a layout! I've been actively trying to participate in more challenges and this one just happened to be a layout challenge.

The original challenge I entered this into isn't actually on any blogs. I was challenged to a circle layout. I had to use 3 photos, 7 buttons, a circle tag, and 2 pattern papers. So how's I do? These photos have been waiting for me to scrap for quite some time now.

Details
Title was cut from Don Juan at 2 inches
Photos were cutting using the Center Point feature and the circle from George and Basic Shapes at 2 inches
Photo mats were also cut from George at 2.25 using the circle and it's shadow
The circle tag was also cut from George using the Charm feature, I attached it using a standard brad
The two flower brads were added since they complimented the layout, I'm still debating the ribbon
I also threw in a fun circle paper clip, since it matched the color scheme.

This is most I've ever put on a layout. I have to say, I'm sort of impressed with myself. I'll be entering this into the following challenge (because it looks like I missed a bunch of deadlines, darn!):

Welch Creations - Anything Goes with A Flower

Turquoise Beach Wedding Album

So I totally forgot to post the pictures of the album I made for my BFFs wedding. You know the one I made the guest book and banner for (you can read that post here). Well here are the photos of the album.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the long overdue photos.
