1st Blogiversay Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my first blogiversary blog hop. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would have thought my blog would still be thriving, I wouldn't have had high hopes. I was just a lonely crafter, gathering inspiration from around the internet through these crafty blogs. I've learned so much and have made many MANY new friends.

I've participated in other blog hops, but this will be the first that I am hosting. Each stop along the way has a "secret word" that you will need for a chance to win the prize. After you've hop to each stop, you will need to email me the answer to the "secret phrase". You have until 11:59PM EST on January 6th to enter to win. Winner will be announced on January 7th.

YOU HAVE TO EMAIL ME THE SECRET PHRASE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PRIZE

Prize:
K&Co Smash Book & Accessories

THEMENEW
Since we will be heading into the New Year, I asked each of the participants to make projects that include something "new". It can be a New Year's project, new baby, new car, new job....get the idea?

Here is my project:

I decided to do a layout for the New Year's Eve celebration that we always have. I used Sweethearts for the glasses and Don Juan for the font. The pattern paper came from my All Throughout the Year stack by Karen Foster Designs and is cut at 10 x 10. I used some silver curling ribbon to break the page up and some shine. The blue paper is from DCWV Mediterranean Cafe stack.

Thank you for stopping by, my secret word is: "What's". You next stop is Amy over at Scrap This Save That

Finished Wedding Guest Book & Banner

Hello my long lost friends (LOL),

I was able to spend a few hours on Saturday down in the scrap cave and I'm proud to say that it's done!! I did have an unfortunate incident with the hot glue gun and my thumb still hurts!! Here are some photos

I added the ribbon and some roped ribbon along the edges to tie in with that "beachy" feel. I really, really LOVE how this turned out. Once that was finished, I moved on to the banner that the bride requested. It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted, because for 3 weeks Michael's hasn't had the paper I needed. I improvised, but I'm not quite satisfied. (I did however sign up for the new Rewards program when I was there on Saturday!!) Please excuse my messy basement!

That's all for now. Check back soon for some more projects.

Wedding Album

Good Evening everyone,

I know I promised you some pictures of the wedding album I worked on at the crop last week. I apologize for just now getting around to it. I apologize in advance for the photo heavy post. So without further ado...

Bride & Groom Pages

These pages are actually pockets. I intend to put some tags in for individual pictures of the bridal party and groomsmen.

Wedding Party

I know there is a word missing, I need to recut the "The". The cricut machine at Scrap That had a dull blade and it completely ripped that word apart.

Ceremony

Reception

Now for some close ups:

I still have a few pages to complete, but I'm almost there. Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Album

While working on my entry for Momo's challenge, I decided to make another page for the wedding album.

This is the right facing page of the bridal shower page I showed in my last post about the wedding album.

Here's a close up of the packages, cut from the Sweethearts cartridge. I blinged out the bows to stand out. I also used a fine felt tip maker to make the lines stand out a bit more. The larger package is cut at 2.5" and the smaller one is cut at 2". I popped up the larger one using 3D dots.

This is one of the journaling blocks that I got from Oriental Trading. I used a thin strip ATG tape to adhere it to the page.
