Week 13: Made it Myself Mondays

Morning Bloggers,

It's time again for Alex's weekly linking party. It's quite simple, there are only a couple of rules:
- Link up any project, new or old
- Link up to 3 projects
- Place the above button on your blog post

Over the weekend, I accomplished a lot of crafting and it feels so good to be able to say that. Here's a card that I made using the following sketch

Here's my card (sorry about the darkness)

I'm in the process of making a baby boy album and figured I could use this card to go with it.

Details:
5 x 7 Card (from a set of Martha Stewart card bases) in blue
Pattern Paper mat is 4 7/8 by 6 7/8
Brown mat is 3 x 4 7/8, punched with Fiskar's Treading Water punch
Off-white mat is 2 1/2 x 4 7/8
Baby feet cut from New Arrivals at 2 1/4
Scalloped circle and circle cut at 2 from Mini Monograms

Hurricane Irene Crafting #3

This project will be entered in the the following challenge:

Shopping Our Stash #14 - Red, roses, ribbon

I've had this paper forever and I'm so glad that I could use it.

Details:
Card base - 4x4 inches black cardstock
Rose mat - 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 inches
Scallop circle and circle - 2 inches

My thoughts were this could be used as a notecard.

Just watched the weather report, things are going to start really degrading here. Praying for my friends and family in Virginia Beach and along the Eastern Shore of Va and Md, they are directly in the path of the eye of this hurricane.

Hurricane Irene Crafting #2

I created the following card for the following challenges:

Celebrate the Occasion #27 - Circle Shape Card

Cricut Cardz Challenge #89 - Child's Birthday Card, Jungle theme

I'm not completely satisfied with this card. Here are the details:

Card Base - Cut from Pagoda at 5.75. I didn't have any plain circle card bases so I used this one and covered the kanji.
Alligator - Cut from Create-A-Critter at 2 inches.
Pond - CAC (Hippo accessory layer), 2 inches

Hurricane Irene Crafting #1

Good Evening Everyone,

As Hurricane Irene makes it way up tue East Coast, I decided to hunker down in the scrap cave, "for safety reasons". LOL. Actually my area isn't getting much at the moment, but it's suppose to get worse overnight.

I started the morning out by going to my local craft stores. Got A LOT of stuff:

Here's what I got:
Wal-mart - Cricut Lite: Cupcake Wrappers and Cherry Limeade, 6x6 Cricut Mats
Michael's: S.E.I paper pack on clearance, 2 8.5x11 cardstock packs, ATG refills, Zots, Spots and Dots Cuttlebug folder, ink dauber
A.C Moore: 18x24 self-healing mat(55% off) and 3 spools of ribbon

After I got home, I got busy down in the scrap cave.

One of my BFFs is having her first grandchild this December.
In my true fashion, I'm making her an album.

Check back in a few for another post that addresses some challenges.

More Altered Composition Notebooks

I have gone composition notebook crazy. I snuck down to the scrap cave for a bit and worked on two more notebooks. I'm planning on listing these on my Etsy shop. I've realized a couple of things:
1) I really need to post more items on my shop
2) I really missed crafting
3) I really need to print out my photos
4) I love going to crops

Here are the books, they are not as detailed as the summer journal I made for Miss A.

I intentionally left the second blank so that it could be customized with a monogram. What do you guys think?

Amber's Craft and Stuff Challenge #24 - Rainbows

Good Wednesday Morning to you all!!

I've been feeling so much better and I'm so excited that I've actually been able to craft. This is the final challenge over at Amber's Crafts and Stuff. {Insert sad face here} I've had a great time being part of her design team. I've learned loads of stuff too from the other DT members. Overall, I'm glad that I applied to be part of the team. With all of that being said, please participate in this challenge to show Amber how much we've appreciated her time and commitment to organizing these challenges the past 24 weeks.

This week's challenge is "Rainbows". You are to use either a rainbow of colors or a rainbow itself. This week's challenge is being sponsored by Bee Crafty. This week's winner will receive 3 digis from Bee Crafty!!

I've been on a mission to use up my scraps. I found this very summery striped paper and just knew that I needed to use it with the digi that I chose to use from Bee Crafty. Here's my card (sorry the image is so dark, it was quite late last night) :

Details:
Standard A2-size card in white
Striped mat is from a stack that I can't remember the name to, but is cut to 4 x 5.25
Blue stripe is from my strap pile, I forgot to measure it, but it is 4 inches across and punch with Threading Waters
The ribbon, flower, and rhinestone are also from my stash
I stamped the sentiment with StayzOn Jet Black
The digi is colored with the only thing in my house that I could find...colored pencils!!

Challenges Entered:
Digi Doodle Shop - #73 Anything Goes

I really like how this turned out. On a side note, I've been accepted to be part of a blog hop on Sept 6th. Stay tuned for more details!!

Until next time,
Stay Crafty!

Altered Composition Notebook

So on Friday I was browsing through through the blogs and I stumbled across the Altered Composition notebook blog hop. Those ladies did such an amazing job and inspired me to give it a go. I was going to do a more traditional scrapbook for Miss A. I wanted to give her something to remember her Summer Day camp by since it will be ending in two weeks. This notebook will be perfect!!

Here are the photos:

So I decided to add some dividers to help prompt her to write. On the first few pages of each section, I've written in prompts like "The best movie I saw was..." I hope she likes it. I think I might make some a bit more grown up and list on my Etsy shop. I've been neglecting my shop. :-(

Well it's time for True Blood, stay crafty!!

Amber's Crafts and Stuff Challenge #23 - Dollar Store Finds

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

This week over at Amber's Crafts and Stuff, the challenge is to utilize something that you found at the dollar or pound (for all you UK folks) store, or even the dollar bins at Target!!  It's Design Team B's week for inspiration. Head on over to Amber's blog to check out their projects and enter you own.

This will be the second to last challenge for Amber. She has found the task of hosting challenges to be more daunting than fun. I'm going to miss the challenges and my fellow design team members. This was my first design team EVER. It challenged me to think outside of the box sometimes and helped me realize that I just might be a little better at all of this than I originally realized. So I want to say, "Thank you" to Amber for the opportunity to be a part of her team.

This week's challenge is being sponsored by Limited Runs Digital Stamps

Amber's Crafts and Stuff #22 - Back to School

Good Wednesday Morning,

It's time for another weekly challenge over at Amber's Crafts and Stuff. This week, that challenge is Back to School. Although school doesn't start here in Philadelphia until September 6th, I know there are many kids who have already started back. (My sister for instance, started August 4th) This week's challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads. This week's winner will receive five (5) free digi's from Di.

I wanted to do a layout for Miss A's book, since I've been feeling a bit better and need to take advantage of that. This layout is for her school picture from the grade she just completed, but it is school related...(ok, so I'm stretching just a little bit) I still need to add a few things to the layout. I goofed and forgot about the sponsor this week!

Details:
DCWV Guys Stack for the background paper and journal card (I loved the primary colors and the stars, because she finished the year on A-honor roll)
Locker Talk - for the title (4 inches) and the notebook paper (6 inches) which I will use to journal more about her first year in school here in Philly. I think I am going to cut out either the books or scissors and glue for the bottom right. It's missing something.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to head over to Amber's blog to see what the other design team members came up with and to enter your own project.

I'm entering this into this week's Celebrate The Occasion challenge which is also Back to School. Also in My Creative Time: Throwback Thursday Challenge.

Stay Crafty

Happy Birthday Mommy

Good morning all,

This week my mom will celebrate yet another birthday. I'm so proud of who my mom is and how she came from Germany at a young 19 years old to the US. I admire so much of things she does. So what better way to celebrate than to make her a card.

She'll just live the sentiment!! Hahahaha, I'm evil! I'm sharing this over at Alex's You Had Me at Crafts Link Up Party.

Details:
Z-Fold Card (measures 5.5 x 4.25), card base is basic black cardstock
Pattern Paper - DCWV Mango Frost stack
Ribbon - from my stash of Oriental Trading supplies
Cupcake is cut from Create-A-Critter at 1.25 inches on all layers, adhered with a pop dot to act as a latch

New Blog

Hi Everyone,

A few months back I wrote about a condition called Ulcerative Colitis, which I was diagnosed with in December of last year. I started a new blog that talks about my journey to reach a place of remission and ultimately healing. If you or anyone you know suffers from the disease, please jump over and take a read. It's an honest, day-to-day chronicle of my ups and downs, things I've been reading, studies I've been following, etc.

Here's the link.

Thanks for stopping by (I miss you guys dearly)
