Artbooking Layout: Autumn Harvest

It's been a minute, hasn't it? I was away at a crop this past weekend and decided I needed to make a layout to teach as a class. Since we are officially in the fall season, I choose to do the above layout. The background paper is from DCWV paper pack.

I've added two 4x4 flip flaps onto the page to allow for 4 extra photos to be added onto the page. This cartridge is absolutely my most favorite cartridge, EVER. All of the elements from this page were cut from one key. There was no searching around in the booklet to find matching pieces. I can't wait to make another layout!!

Don't for for the next week, if you place an order of $50 or more you get the "You Are My Happy" stamp set trio for only $10. Click here to start shopping.

Snowmaggedon Layout

This evening I was able to complete a layout. I'm part of a group that challenges each other to do scrappy stuff. I was challenged to create a winter layout using only winter colors, 2 photos, 4 brads, a journaling pocket, a 1 inch title, and either glitter or Stickles. Here's what I came up with:

This layout is about the winter snow storms we had through the winter of 09-10. Here in Philadelphia we got a total of 67 inches of snow over the course of 4 storms. Definitely something worthy of scrapping.

Details:
Title was cut at 1 inch (real dial size) using Don Juan Cricut cartridge, the snowflakes were cut at 1.5 inches.
I hand cut the journaling card and used my corner rounder for the "tab"
The pattern paper is cut at 10 x 10 and the top corners have been rounded.
I inked around all the edges with a brown stamp pad (wish I had a blue one, but we all know snow in the city is usually brown or black after a day)
I used the following sketch from PageMaps as inspiration:

Scrappy Saturday

Good Evening,

I spent quite a few hours down in the scrap cave attempting to knock out a special order for a coworker. I was able to get a few layouts done for her grandson's baby book. He won't be here until sometime around the beginning of December, but I have another book that needs to be done about the same time.

Here are some photos (ok a lot of photos)

A layout

I know you are all probably as shocked as I am, I actually did a layout! I've been actively trying to participate in more challenges and this one just happened to be a layout challenge.

The original challenge I entered this into isn't actually on any blogs. I was challenged to a circle layout. I had to use 3 photos, 7 buttons, a circle tag, and 2 pattern papers. So how's I do? These photos have been waiting for me to scrap for quite some time now.

Details
Title was cut from Don Juan at 2 inches
Photos were cutting using the Center Point feature and the circle from George and Basic Shapes at 2 inches
Photo mats were also cut from George at 2.25 using the circle and it's shadow
The circle tag was also cut from George using the Charm feature, I attached it using a standard brad
The two flower brads were added since they complimented the layout, I'm still debating the ribbon
I also threw in a fun circle paper clip, since it matched the color scheme.

This is most I've ever put on a layout. I have to say, I'm sort of impressed with myself. I'll be entering this into the following challenge (because it looks like I missed a bunch of deadlines, darn!):

Another Layout for Miss A's book

Good Evening bloggers,

I was able to spend some time down in the scrap cave tonight while Miss A was out getting her hair done. I'm challenging myself to get her album up to date before the end of the summer.

This layout is from our outing to a place called Bamboo Gardens. The company I work for sponsored the picnic and let me tell you, it was great. (Okay, maybe I'm a bit partial because I helped to plan the event)

I didn't get many pictures but I did snap one of Miss A and the gorgeous bamboo.

Thanks for stopping by.

My Very First Layout Ever

While cleaning I decided to go through my personal albums. I've shared many other projects with you all but never any of my personal layouts. So over the next few days, I'm going to post some of my personal layouts. Now remember, I started out as a layout only paper crafter.

Here's my original, very first layout EVER:

Palacious Beach House, Sandbridge, VA
This is a photo of the beach house my uncle and his softball team friends would rent in Virginia Beach. Growing up, I spent many summers playing in the waters off Sandbridge. Just me, my cousins, and the softball family. This was a few years after I graduated from high school, but before I graduated from college. We had so much fun!!

I hope you enjoy the layout.
