Teacher's Appreciation Gift

So I'm totally behind and forgot that this was teacher's appreciation week. Miss A asked if we could still make a card for her teacher. That kid, I tell you. So I rummaged through my post-Christmas Bath & Body Works Haul (seriously, outlet + end of year blowout = Major Deals) and decided to give her teacher a nice smelly hand wash.

I knew I wanted to wrap this somehow, so I got a little creative and used a new function on my Cricut. I don't have any circle punches, so I used the Center-Point feature. Figured out where I wanted my hole, moved the blade to it's center and hit cut. Easy Peesy.

To make the enclosure I took a 12 by 12 sheet and cut it down to 4 by 12. Then cut another piece that was 4 by 5 for the back. After cutting the circle in the larger piece, I fitted and folded to meet my needs. Then I used my ATG to adhere the back piece to the front.

Nothing like a sweet apple for your teacher. I cut the apple and it's layers at 3 inches. The gingham mat is cut at 3 3/4 by 5. The green mat is 3 3/4 by 3 and punched with the Threading waters punch. I inked around the edges of the apple (before I put it together, a first), but forgot to ink my other edges. The stamp is from a set I bought through Oriental Trading. I've decided, I need better ink. :-(

Thanks for stopping by.

Stay crafty
